April Soroko has an MFA from the Yale School of Drama and a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been working as a professional designer for major theatre productions since 1992. Her work includes costume design for ‚"A Midsummer Night Dream"‚ "The Merchant of Venice"‚ "Twelfth Night"‚ "Othello" and set design for "Much Ado About Nothing" and "King Lear" at the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival and "The Mystery of Irma Vep", "Suddenly Last Summer", "Hedda Gabler", and many others, at Triad Stage in Greensboro, North Carolina. Ms. Soroko has also acted as a set designer on productions both at the Yale School of Drama, the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, Guilford College, Armstrong Atlantic State University and the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre at the University of Miami. Ms. Soroko was an Assistant Professor of Design at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina from 2000-2005, an Instructor at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia from 2005 - 2007, and recently joined the faculty in Theatre Arts as the Assistant Professor of Scenic Design at the University of Miami.
